Sustainable forestry has been a passion and a strategy for The Farm Mechanic since our inception.

What is FSC certified wood?
The FSC certification is considered the "gold standard" designation for wood harvested from forests that are responsibly managed, socially beneficial, environmentally conscious, and economically viable. According to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), buying FSC-certified outdoor furniture helps support sustainable forest management, which reduces the emission of greenhouse gases and protects wildlife habitat.

Arbor Day Foundation Initiative

As part of our overall efforts to help protect our planet, we’ve developed a new initiative here at The Farm Mechanic. Beginning April, 2021 we will contribute to the Arbor Day Foundation’s General Reforestation Program which allows us to plant trees in a forest of greatest need. By supporting the Arbor Day Foundation, The Farm Mechanic will directly help to replant our nation's forests, preserve endangered tropical rain forests, provide hope and healing to communities in the wake of natural disasters and engage the next generation of tree planters.
